Leonia Hunt is ready to see the world from a different angle. This adventurous Air Force dependent was awarded a $3,000 Lockheed Martin/ThanksUSA scholarship to enroll in the Aviation Management with Flight Program at Florida Institute of Technology. Ultimately, she plans to pursue a career as an international airline pilot.
To get a jump on her educational goals, Leonia obtained her private pilot’s license and earned her AA degree from Eastern Florida State College while still in high school.
Leonia complements her studies as a member of Women in Aviation and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. She has also been inducted into Florida Institute of Technology’s Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
“I am very proud to be the recipient of the Lockheed Martin/ThanksUSA scholarship. With the help of this generous award, I am able to fulfill my goals of becoming an International Airline Pilot.
