Stephen Curry ThanksUSA Annual Charity Golf Tournament

The second annual Stephen Curry ThanksUSA Charity Golf Tournament took place on September 24, 2012, at the prestigious Presidio Golf Club in San Francisco.

Members of the US Coast Guard, local sport VIPs, corporate sponsors and other individuals all came together with NBA star Curry and his Golden State Warrior teammates in support of ThanksUSA. The tournament was a great success and we are very thankful to everyone who attended, including Stephen’s father, former NBA player Dell Curry, San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee, and local ThanksUSA scholar Maria Barrameda.

ThanksUSA Salutes Stephen Curry

2013 marks the third year of Stephen’s involvement with ThanksUSA as the organization’s National Spokesperson. In that time, he has supported the ThanksUSA mission in distinctive ways:

• Participates in annual charity golf tournament with all proceeds benefiting ThanksUSA
• In 2011, Stephen Curry and wife, Ayesha Alexander, asked their wedding guests to help support scholarships for military families by sending donations to ThanksUSA
• Continues to remain constant role model, leader, and or encouragement to scholarship recipients and members

What’s New with Stephen Curry

As a student at Davidson College in Charlotte, NC, Stephen received a scholarship that gave him an opportunity to receive an education and thus an amazing career in basketball. As Stephen says, “With a college scholarship you can afford to dream big...your support can help us win and win big.”

Thanks to his start at Davidson, he has had a successful NBA professional basketball career since 2009 (when he was drafted in the first round) and is now considered one of the League’s best shooters.
