This year's treasure hunt focuses on the fascinating histories of Alabama, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire and New Jersey, along with the history of the U.S. Army and a new chapter on energy and the environment. We encourage students, families and individuals to jump into the chapters and learn important historical facts and concepts in a fun but challenging way in hopes of winning this year's fabulous educational and technological prizes. The clues and puzzles were generated by several teachers and supporters of ThanksUSA, including four of our past treasure hunt winners!

We arranged chapter one through seven from easiest to hardest. Elementary school students should be able to discover the answers to the beginning chapters with some guidance, but even middle and high school students will struggle with the later chapters. Cultural references might require consultation with someone over 40 years of age.

We will tease you, bend your mind and coax you through siphers, crosswords, word searches, anagrams and more as you search for the key to unlock the state's treasure . With the correct answer, the state's treasure is revealed.
