Army National Guard dependent Tarryn Anderson was awarded a $3,000 Blavatnik Family Foundation/ThanksUSA scholarship to begin her undergraduate education at Ozarks Technical Community College in Missouri. Tarryn recently transferred to the University of Missouri where she will major in Food Science with a minor in Chemistry. |
“My career goal is to work in the food industry as a Food Scientist. I am interested in developing new foods, ensuring food safety, and working with corporations to make food more nutritious and better tasting. Specifically, I would like to develop new flavors for foods or to find new uses for the 'waste products' of food processing.” She is excited to explore the many academic opportunities offered by Mizzou and would like to study abroad during her junior year. In her spare time, Tarryn enjoys volunteering with Sammy’s Window, a non-profit clothing bank for foster children. “I am so grateful for the support military families are given by ThanksUSA. When times are hard and loved ones are sent to other countries, it is nice to know there are people out there that care and want to help us. The Blavatnik Family Foundation/ThanksUSA scholarship has helped me greatly and I could not be more grateful. Thank you so much!” |
