Air Force dependent Miranda Steffey was awarded a $3,000 Bruce & Suzie Kovner/ThanksUSA scholarship for her junior year of Nursing studies at Idaho State University. When her grandmother suffered from a stroke, Miranda drew comfort and inspiration from a highly skilled nursing staff. “I realized after watching everything my grandma went through that I wanted to go into the nursing field, get my degree, and be that passionate person who cares!” |
This Air Force dependent took immediate action to help care for her grandmother and earned her CNA certification while still in high school. Not only did she help care for her grandmother, Miranda began volunteering at the local nursing home. “The patients are so inspirational and it has been a great learning experience that I will continue to use throughout my career.” Miranda is a member of the Student Nurses Association and works as a Photo Editor for the Bengal News. In her spare time, she enjoys travel, photography, a variety of outdoor activities, and spending time with friends and family. |

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!” |
