Witnessing his father’s leadership and service with the United States Marine Corps has inspired Brady Bodine to give back to the military community. “The sense of duty made a lasting impression. I continue to be grateful for the daily contributions, commitment, and sacrifices of all of our military heroes. My future desire is to assist in returning our wounded and injured to health and activity through a career in Orthopedic Sports Medicine.”

To help him achieve this goal, ThanksUSA has awarded Brady consecutive Colonel Abraham M. Ehrlich/ThanksUSA scholarships totaling $6,000 for undergraduate studies at North Carolina State University. To prepare for post-graduate medical studies, Brady majors in Human Biology with a Nutrition minor.

In addition to following a rigorous pre-medical curriculum, Brady continues to play varsity football as a preferred walk-on running back for North Carolina State football and special teams.

He is also a strong advocate of community service and volunteerism. Brady is involved with various campus athletic clubs and enjoys coaching young athletes at youth sports camps. During this year's spring break, Brady participated in a Fellowship of Christian Athletes mission to Kenya. "The mission proved exceptionally rewarding in giving back to humankind. I look forward to a life journey committed to continued service."

Brady's summer will consist of classes, athletic training, and of course, volunteer work. He is also looking forward to attending his younger brothers high school graduation and induction to the U.S. Naval Academy.

“I am extremely grateful for the Financial support of the Colonel Abraham M. Ehrlich/ThanksUSA scholarship. I have been afforded an exciting and academically challenging experience. Being a student-athlete requires strong discipline, work ethic, and time-management skills. It also provides an opportunity to touch lives through community service. Thank you for considering me a worthy recipient.”
