Army dependent Brian Fields received his third $3,000 Jackson Casey Fund/ThanksUSA scholarships to continue a Political Science major at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. After completing undergraduate studies next spring, Brian plans to pursue a Master's in Public Administration while working on the 2018 federal midterm elections. Until then, he is dedicated to serving fellow students through political advocacy. |
Brian successfully managed the campaign of the current UNC Chapel Hill Student Body President. He has worked for the Governor of North Carolina and as a staffer for the North Carolina General Assembly. This year, Brian explains, "I will be working in my newly inaugurated role of Director of State and External Affairs for the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, working on state policy to better conditions for all 225,000 students across the state of North Carolina."
"Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to be a ThanksUSA scholar for 2017-2018. ThanksUSA has given me the opportunity to mitigate the financial burden of going to college, something I at times wondered if I should spend the money on. Now, I am on the verge of graduating with highest honors from a top 5 public university in the country. Without ThanksUSA and its donors I wouldn't be near where I am today, so I really appreciate the help that has been given to me through this program and the individuals involved." |
