Receiving her second Jackson Casey Fund/ThanksUSA scholarship has allowed Army dependent Bethany Haynes to continue undergraduate studies at Mississippi State University. Preparing for admittance to Mississippi State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, Bethany majors in Animal and Dairy Science with a Pre-Veterinary Science concentration. |
After completing her first academic year at Mississippi State, Bethany returned home for summer break and worked full-time as a Veterinary Assistant while earning additional college credits at Northern Virginia Community College. This fall, Bethany retuned to MSU even more enthusiastic about her academic and career goals. She is a member of the Pre-Veterinary Club, involved with the Collegiate Cattleman’s Association, and has volunteered as a Beef Unit Research assistant. Bethany is preparing for a summer internship that will expand her knowledge of the exotic and wildlife fields of veterinary medicine. Besides her studies, Bethany enjoys playing intramural soccer and volunteering with various rescue organizations. “Thank you again for this wonderful scholarship! Finances have been tight for my family, but because of your generous nature, I am able to keep my dream of becoming a veterinarian alive. I am sincerely grateful for your support and want to thank you again on behalf of my entire family.” |
