Kevin Forsyth is looking forward to a rewarding career as a health care professional. The Air National Guard dependent was awarded a $3,000 Jackson Casey Fund/ThanksUSA scholarship to begin his Nursing studies at Misericordia University in Pennsylvania. Following in the footsteps of his mother and older brother, Kevin will be the third person in his immediate family to become a Nurse. |
Kevin has watched his mother navigate a successful nursing career that provides job stability and a great work/home balance. Not only does she care for the sick and injured, she also educates patients about health and wellness. "Nurses impact lives on a daily basis. Nursing is a noble profession and I can't wait to become a part of it." To complement his studies, Kevin has joined the Misericordia Student Nurses Association. He also plays on the men's Lacrosse team and has volunteered at the Dallas Harvest Festival and The Meadows Nursing Home. |
"It is an honor to have been selected as a Jackson Casey Fund/ThanksUSA scholarship recipient. I really appreciate the chance to honor Jackson's memory as I feel that we had a lot in common. This scholarship will help me reach my goals of becoming an RN a little easier. I hope that you will continue to support this great program!!" |
