Sidney Bierman received a $3,000 Paladin Capital Group/ThanksUSA scholarship to continue undergraduate studies at South Dakota State University. The daughter of an Army Reservist, Sidney’s ultimate goal is to become a mixed-animal veterinarian. She majors in Animal Science with minors in Chemistry, Biology, Animal Health, and Equine Studies. |
Clearly a focused and dedicated student, Sidney credits her father and his military career with inspiring her work ethic. “My father's third deployment made a huge impact on my life. I was a freshman in high school and I remember thinking that if I concentrate on my grades and sports, the time would fly by and I would not think about his absence. That year shaped me as a person and improved my work ethic tremendously. I realized my own academic potential and discovered what I wanted to do with my future.” |
This is the second year that Sidney has received a ThanksUSA scholarship and she will be among the thousands of military dependents and spouses applying for a 2017-2018 ThanksUSA scholarship. “Thank you so much to everybody involved for making scholarships through ThanksUSA possible. It means so much knowing that there are people supporting students in their endeavors. These scholarships are a tremendous help to many pursuing their dreams. I cannot even begin to describe how thankful I am!” |
